What this means in practice: H is important where high sounds prevail, M – for normal mixed noise, L – for low noise, such as engine or wind noise. For motorcyclists, the L value is particularly relevant, and 22 dB is an appropriate level: wind noise is dampened while traffic sounds remain audible.
HASPRO Moto are professional earplugs designed specifically for motorcycling. The main problem while riding is not the engine noise, but the wind noise under the helmet – it can exceed 95 dB at 100 km/h and can damage hearing unnoticed over several hours of travel.
The plugs are designed not to interfere with the helmet lining and not to press on the ear while riding. This is the main difference from regular plugs, which quickly start to rub under the helmet.
SNR 26 dB attenuation is selected to dampen continuous wind noise while leaving important sounds audible – signals from other vehicles, sirens, the operation of your own engine. Too strong attenuation on the road is dangerous.
