Purpose

Occlusive chest wound dressing is a specialized first aid tool designed for use with open chest wounds, particularly in cases of suspected or confirmed pneumothorax or hemothorax. The dressing ensures a tight seal over the wound, preventing air and fluids from entering the chest cavity while allowing trapped air or blood to escape – thus reducing pressure inside the chest.

The dressing is intended for single use and is packaged individually in a sealed package.

Chest occlusive dressings are essential in first aid kits, especially in military, emergency, or extreme situations. Ideal for use in:

Features

The unique multi-directional ventilation system of the bandage allows fluids to drain under the force of gravity, making it effective even when the patient is transported in a supine position, for example, on their side.

Steps of use

Step 1: Clean and dry the wound surface.
Step 2: Remove the protective layer from the adhesive side of the bandage.
Step 3: Apply the dressing to the wound so that the entire area is covered.
Step 4: Firmly press the dressing against the skin to ensure a secure adhesion and coverage.
